Late to The Party was originally going to be the name of my album because, ah, it's taken time to get here.

When the prompt of truth came one month through my songwriting troupe, the line "truth is a guest always late to the party" arrived very quickly and the song (inadvertently a companion piece to 'Out Of Sight' in so many ways) was built around this.

I love Chris' drumming on this. Really pushes things along. His guitar reminds me of Dave Gilmour in places. Lots of oooo's and piano work for me too.

My friend Neil Connor does a brilliant XTC-like, guitar-based version that I'll have to dig up (out?) for the rarities version.
